My first post will put a positive note on things, starting from an idealized view in sketching my place up... because my house is disheveled and distainful and the tasks ahead are downright daunting. I will add photos of the real house later on.
I learned that Google has a drawing program one can download for free and took advantage of it. It took me two hours to download. I split firewood and a couple other things while I waited. Over the Thanksgiving Day holiday I drew about nine things and am ready to get out of the house again.

I really like Punch's home architecture software (www.punch.com). I'm going to be posting on it soon. Looks like you've really made sketch-up work for you pretty well. I will likely do a post on sketch-up as well...
